Australian Government Scholarships Now Open
RCNA and the Australian Government have a range of scholarships available for Nurses, Midwives and midwifery and nursing students on offer at the moment, with more opening throughout the year.

Aged Care Nursing CPD Scholarships
The Government supports the aged care sector through the funding of training, workforce development and specialist workforce activities. As part of this commitment Continuing Professional Development aged care nursing scholarships are being offered to develop career pathways for workers in aged care. Applications opened on 9 March 2012.
Continuing Professional Development Scholarships are available for registered nurses and enrolled nurses working within the aged care sector to attend short courses conferences or workshops for Continuing Professional Development. These scholarships provide financial assistance of up to:
$5,000 per short course/workshop; and
$3,000 per applicant for conference attendance.
WHO CAN APPLY
These scholarships are available to Australian citizens or permanent residents who are currently working in the aged care sector. Scholarships are available to registered nurses and enrolled nurses who undertake a short course, conference or workshop.
Applications for the scholarships opened on 9 March 2012 and will close on 27 April 2012. Interested nurses should contact the Royal College of Nursing Australia on 1800 116 696 or download information packs at www.rcna.org.au or email scholarships@rcna.org.au.
Aged Care Nurse Re-Entry Scholarships
The Government supports the aged care sector through the funding of training, workforce development and specialist workforce activities. As part of this commitment Nurse Re-entry aged care nursing scholarships are being offered to encourage nurses back into aged care sector. Applications opened on 9 March 2012.
Nurse Re-entry scholarships are available for former registered or enrolled nurses whose registration has lapsed and who are intending to participate in Nurse Re-entry studies and join the aged care sector. These scholarships provide financial assistance of up to $6,000 covering a two year period.
WHO CAN APPLY
These scholarships are available to Australian citizens or permanent residents who are former registered nurses or enrolled nurses with registration that has lapsed. Scholarships are available to nurses who have a commitment to aged care and are intending to participate in re-entry studies that will lead to re-registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

Grants and Scholarships
ANF Educational Grants
ANF offers up to 15 educational grants each year to eligible members worth up to $200 each. Grants are to be used to assist members with professional development.
Eligibility:
- Have two years of financial membership with the ANF
- Not have received an ANF grant in the previous three years
- Use the grant for seminars relevant to your nursing practice, patient care or ANF organisationally (excludes formal academic studies)
- Demonstrate that all other relevant avenues for funding have been considered
- Complete an ANF proforma application
Successful applicants must submit a written report to the ANF which may be printed in Infusion
UTAS School of Nursing and Midwifery Rural and Remote Funding
Rural Remote funding provides students with assistance to complete nursing placements in a rural area. Click here for more information.
